The British Bulldog wasn't very tall, probably 5'9"ish like Frank said, but a legit 250 pounds. The guy was all muscle as well.

That was sort of the point:) Gene's age ranges from 44 to 67 in those pics, so you would expect him to shrink around an inch. Hogan (age 29 to 52 in those pics) has definitely lost height prematurely due to his injuries. However, if Hogan's lost the 3 inches like a few claim here, Gene must have also.

Ola honestly your a little off the mark, I tend to underestimate heights but some of yours are just funny...if you just look at the pics of HBJ, especially him on stage, he looks like a 6'5 guy, he has 5 inches on Chris easily.

I was wearing basic tennis shoes which probably put my height around 6'2 1/4"
The third picture of me and HBJ is abit skewed as we we both standing on a stage and the photographer was down on the ground shooting upwards...which probably made HBJ look alittle taller than he was.

Miko, Hogan claimed a 1 1/4" height loss in 1990. I believe he was a full 6'6" up until 1989. He was taller than 6'5.5" HBJ in every pic of them from the mid-late 1980's.

I don't know what to think about Hogan's heights, part of me wants to say that he was 6'7 peak and 6'5 now because he was one of the tallest wrestlers back when and was inches taller than the 6'3 guys and only Studd & Andre were taller. But then I see pics of 6'5 Fralic being the same height as Studd and Hogan was always about 2.5 inches shorter than studd. Also I see that Jesse Ventura is listed in the wrestling hall of fame as 6'2, not the 6'5 that he was at back when. That makes me wonder if Hogan was a little under 6'5 peak and 6'3 tops now.
Very good observation, Hogan's exact peak height is almost impossible to pin down. I think he was about 6'5.5 at his tallest and 6'3.5 as he is listed here currently. I think his cowboy boots are definetly making it hard for us to pin down his exact height.

Hogan was taller than 6'1 Piper by 5 inches, he was taller than 6'4 Bundy by 2 inches, and he was shorter than 6'7 Big John Studd by 1-2 inches. The point I am trying to make is that Hulk was a solid 6'5 in his prime and perhaps even a little over. When you make a claim that Hogan was 6'3 or 6'4 you are reducing your credibility. Hey guys -
I will post two other photos of myself and HBJ that were taken on the same day as the one posted on HBJ's page. If Hogan was indeed HBJ's height back in the day, then I would agree that Hogan was probably around 6'5 1/2". HBJ was wearing tennis shoes as well as me...so the height comparison is very good. I will post those pictures later today.
Chris, Hogan was taller than Hilbilly by at least an inch in at least 3 pics from 1985-1989. JT once upon a time knew this and actually stated it, before he decided to turn his back on Hogan and Andre the Giant and has made it his lifelong mission to prove that Hogan was never over 6'5" and Andre never over 6'10", no matter what evidence is right in front of his very own eyes. I saw his neutral stance become biased almost overnight.

Chris, Hogan was taller than Hilbilly by at least an inch in at least 3 pics from 1985-1989. JT once upon a time knew this and actually stated it, before he decided to turn his back on Hogan and Andre the Giant and has made it his lifelong mission to prove that Hogan was never over 6'5" and Andre never over 6'10", no matter what evidence is right in front of his very own eyes. I saw his neutral stance become biased almost overnight.

Hulk was at most 6'5.75 310+ at his peak. That would take him up to 6'8-6'8.25 with the big boots on, which is how they measured heights for the wrestlers back in the 70's-80's. 6'5 290 in 90's. Small 6'4 280 today.

When anyone is in the public eye for a real long time, they have two heights, one when they were young, say in their 20's. And one when they get real old, say when they get to about 50 and beyond. So many times I see guys in there 40's,50's and 60's and people try to judge that as being a true height. Everybody trys to put a peak height on hogan in the mid to late late 80's and even the early 90's. A peak hogan height should be from the mid to late 70's when hardly anyone even knew who he was, like about a 1977 terry boulder when he was about 23 or 24. He had hair and was in great shape, by about 1988 he already was at the grind for 11 or 12 years, was bald and about 35 years old. Like a football player in retirement. I think a YOUNG hogan was 6'5.75 and the 54 yr old hogan is 6'3.75.
When anyone is in the public eye for a real long time, they have two heights, one when they were young, say in their 20's. And one when they get real old, say when they get to about 50 and beyond. So many times I see guys in there 40's,50's and 60's and people try to judge that as being a true height. I was reading last night that Andre the Giant was 6'9", not 7'4" like announced. Remembering back in the day when Hulk fought Andre, there's no way Hulk was only 2 inches shorter than Andre, so something's fishy here.

Hogan, in the mid 1980's, was over 300lbs without question...from 1979 - 1981 he was about 320lbs. The guy was a monster.

This is when his finisher became big boot to the face and then leg drop instead of bodyslam and leg drop. So his body was becoming significantly weaker into the 90's which means he was probably undergoing surgeries which perhaps resulted in a considerable height loss. I am not saying that Hogan never bodyslammed anyone in the mid 90's I am just saying that he severely restricted that move. Instead what went on, the wrestling went right on going, action movies left and right,he was literaly more active than ever, he was doing everything. He can't have it both ways, if you lose 3 inches that fast at that young of an age, you maybe can still walk ok, but your not living life in 5th gear anymore. Sid and Taker were the exact same height to a tee. Neither one was taller than the other. If I had to say if one was 1/8 inch taller than the other I would say it's Sid. About 6'7.5 for the both of them.

Looks to me like Hogan went from 6'6 to 6'5 between 84' and 90', and then 6'4 in 2002 when he returned to the wwe. Probably closer to 6'3 nowadays.

I might be wrong but I have always doubted sid's footwear not only because does he seem to have big soles but also because when he broke his leg coming off the top rope the whole thing didnt look like it would happen if Sid had nothing in his boots. I think sid packed some big lifts inside his shoes causing him to lose balance when he came down from the top rope.

Shooster Hogan was never 6'9. The reason being wwf would have wanted to bill him higher than 6'9 if he truly was 6'9 but they billed him at 6'8 meaning he was under that. I would say Hogan was about 6'6 peak and now he is probably 6'4 or maybe a liile under the 6'4 mark.

So if Fralic is 6'5, WWE would probably never let the guy wear bigger footwear than the biggest wrestlers they have to make the make the height difference between them even smaller than it already is.

I think that Hogan was about 6'5.75 back in 1980, about 6'5 by the end of the 80's when he was bald, about 6'4 by the 2000's when age and "other things" took their toll, which is WHY I'm perplexed by the Fralic pics.

That is an interesting observation anonymous because I also didn't see much difference between Fralic and Studd. There was definetly a bigger difference between Studd and Hogan. Is there any way that Fralic had on bigger footwear or could he possibly be taller than 6'5. That is an interesting observation anonymous because I also didn't see much difference between Fralic and Studd. There was definetly a bigger difference between Studd and Hogan. Is there any way that Fralic had on bigger footwear or could he possibly be taller than 6'5. I agree with JT, nobody matched up as well with Studd in the 80's as fralic did, much less Hogan. Hogan had alot of matches with Studd in the 80's and they would do the Roman Knuckle thing and I would say that Hogan at best was a goodt 2 inches shorter than Studd the way Fralic is 1 inch shorter. Which is wild because I here that Fralic was only 6'5, that suggests a 6'4 peak Hogan, and an absolute peak of maybe 6'7 for Studd. If Fralic does not have cowboy boots on or something, Hogan's and Studd's height's were hyped to epic perportions.

Hulk was never 6'7. He was maybe 6'5.75 in the Rocky 3 days,that would put him at 6'7.75-6'8 in boots. If he was 6'7 that would make him 6'9-6'9.25 in boots and he was just never that tall. I have a observation that I do not think anybody accounts for when analyizing "in the ring" staredown heights. That it is not a flat, constant surface, it sags and dips under the weight of wrestlers, its almost like a floating shock absorber, and in the corners, one is heigher up than if they were in the middle of the ring. The real heavy guys in the ring are going to experience "sinkage".

That's much better for the back, neck and knees. the average guy that hogan body slammed was a 240 lbs guy who was jumping up into his arms for him.
