I never saw anyone over 6'10 in person at least not over 7'0
So no one here or really anywhere as there are literally only a handful of people over 7'4-7'5 let alone 7'7-7'8
I think this kid is the only person this tall without confirmed gigantism or other growth disorder

as i said lifts dont count because lifts are not part of your body and not your real height . and you will be seen liftless sooner or later at some time and that will be very awkward
and you said "I'm not even sure I'd take 7-0 over 5-3." . are you serious ? lol 7'0 is an easy pick vs 5'3 . just work out and get muscular at 7'0 and become a bouncer or become a basketball player etc. .
even though 7'0 is too tall and not a good height you have niche appeal and women who love very tall men will like you . and you can look imposing and most men wont mess with you . and as i said you can become a basketball player etc
and now tell me what is good about 5'3 in comparison ?

c-mo 176-177cm said on 1/Jul/25
@viper
that is normal because of so many dudes lying about their heights or claiming a height they think they are without knowing their actual height thinking they must be that claimed height (which in most cases is several centimeters more than what they actually are)
and women are not good in telling heights anyway
by the way i have been called "tall strong man" a couple of times even here in germany and i am "only" around 176cm . i mean they said it because of certain reasons / circumstances so they maybe didnt actually view me as "tall" but would they have said the same if i was 163cm ? i dont think so
thats why i said before that "even" my height can be a bit tallish in some situations or at least is often seen as a solid height . i feel a solid height even here in germany
but that doesnt change the fact that 5'3 is very short and a problematic height to be . at 5'3 you are shorter than the average woman even
which doesnt mean that you cant be succesful at 5'3 but it is a handicap
7'8 is also a really bad height though . both are bad . but the thing is being short is worse than being too tall . even though 7'8 is extreme . so i really dont know what i would choose but i think i am leaning more towards 7'8 . i would rather be a olivier rioux than some 5'3 dude

Well 5'3 wearing 3-4 inches lifts?
I mean even a 4 inches lifts get you only around 3 due to curve of heel as Rob has videos showing this
So that be 5'6 and basically would look like a 5'5 guy barefoot
At 5'3 id definitely (again my personal choice not saying it is worth it or for ppl to even consider) pursue leg lengthening
Lifts can be good if over 5'5-5'6 to get in a fairly normal range
c-mo 176-177cm said on 28/Jun/25
@viper
lifts are not your real height and not part of your body . imagine you wear big lifts at 5'3 to look lets say 5'6 - 5'7 and you meet a woman in a nightclub for example and then when you are at home you take off your shoes and she sees your real height of 5'3 . that is ridiculous

5'3 and 7'8 are both bad heights and i really dont know which one i would pick
if it was 5'7 vs 7'8 i would take 5'7 without any hesitation of course . but the shorter than 5'7 the harder it becomes to choose and 5'3 is a really tough height for a man
i am so happy to be ~ 5'9.25
when you are a "normal" height so neither very short or abnormally tall you really should be grateful for it
Mike190 said on 19/Jun/25
I would never ever ever get limb lengthening, even If I was 5ft3 or less. The short + long term risks are not worth it. Maybe in the future they can make the procedure safer, then I would consider it.
Only scenario where LL is justified is if your limbs are different lengths. Otherwise its just insane. May as well be a healthy mobile short man, then a cripple average height man.
But still if you had to choose to be born with genetics to be 7ft8 or 5ft3, I'm picking 7ft8 every day of the week, no questions asked.
Better to be a giant man than a very short man (naturally).

Just to add on to what I said previously, I have actually seen Olivier in real life. It was early this year in the YUL airport. Of course, everyone was gawking at him as was I. But despite that, he seemed very happy and secure in himself. He took pictures with everyone who asked and honestly he seemed ammused and ate up all of the attention. Like Neil Fingleton, I believe Olivier is honestly happy to be as tall as he is.
Mike190 said on 10/Jun/25
@viper
I simply don't believe you. No offense but 5ft 3 is a terrible height for a man in the first world. It is 7.5 inches below the average man and 2 inches below the average woman in my country. I have a friend whos 162cm and his height has caused him and insurrmountable amount of grief in his life.
If you live in a third world country where the average male is under 5ft 5, sure then its an ok height. But not where the avg dude about 180cm.
I would much rather be freaky tall and live to 50 then live a long miserable life as a very short man where the average young woman towers me and wants nothing to do with me the instant she finds out my height.
Olivier on the other hand is famous based on his height alone, and I'm sure there are swaths of women that would love to be with him. Sure, most women don't want a man over 2 meters, but there is a large niche for it.
But like I said if it was 5ft 7 vs 7 ft 8 then I'd pick 5ft 7 since at that point your height wouldn't be a major flaw.
5ft 5 & 5ft 6 I'd have to sleep on.
5ft 4 and under no question I'd rather be the giant.

It's hard to say at what point 7'7-7'8 is better than
5'4 for a man is short but is normal human height without any health issues linked to it.
7'8 is going to be massive issues it's really non debatable.
We have people at 6'6 who are major joint issues and back pain due to height.
Cancer risk has been proven to be higher who knows when one goes over 7'3 how the numbers look
It was for every 4 inches a 10-20% increase so someone over 7'0 be off the charts
Not to mention blood clots and heart pumping more throughout the body.
I think 5'0 vs 7'8 as a man both heights are terrible but you make a good point it may be worth the shorter lifespan and massive inconvenience
Remember though at 7'0+ clothes and all that is extremely expensive
One who is 7'5+ has to modify their home as can't comfortably live in it
Bed, door frames, counter tops, shower stall and even ceilings possibly
I think one can easily underestimate how bad things can be when you flirt with 8'0
He's very different than a 6'10-7'2 basketball player who there are a good bit of NBA players in that range
He's even a level up from Edey and Wemby
In the range of Yao Ming, Shawn Bradley and Neil fingleton , Paul Sturgess
Fingleton heart gave out in his mid 30s
Very difficult life
So it's nothing to envy but rather something to pity.
Wish him well

As a young man I would much rather be 7ft 8 than under 5ft 4. Yes, statistically his lifespan will be reduced but there are exceptions. Martin Van Buren Bates who was apparently 7ft9 lived to be 82 years old (in the 19th/early 20th century at that). If he doesn't make the NBA (which is seeming likely at the moment), he can still make a career out of his height.
In my view he is lucky honestly, especially in comparison to being very short. Sure 6ft 4 would be a much better height to be at but he will certainly not have any trouble getting women, having people respect him, etc. The inconvienences aren't as bad as people make them out to be unless you are traveling all the time.
If you asked me if I would rather be 7ft 8 or low-average (5ft 7 ish) then I would pick 5ft 7 since you are no longer short and your height wouldn't be a major detriment at that point.

He's basically Neil Fingleton's height twin. Which makes sense, because I'm not sure it's possible to be taller than that without some kind of growth pituitary or chromosomal disorder, so if ppl claim to be 7'8" or above without any disorder, I'm automatically a bit suspect.

avi said on 7/Jun/25
@Rob
So his parents are fairly tall
Mom is 6'0-6'2 zone
Dad 6'7-68
Brother is 6'8-6'9
Seems like Yao Ming and Shawn Bradley a bit
when both parents are extremely tall for their gender there is a chance (not a big chance) that offspring especially make can hit essentially ALL height related DNA variants and be a giant
Look at this research done for Shawn Bradley:
Click Here Hit all genetic DNA variations so that unique combo is probably what Rioux got
As well as Yao (unless Yao have had HgH when younger to boost him even more to make a "super human" as have speculated)
Question:
If he can grow another inch or so which (I certainly did over 19-20)
This can't be a good thing
At 7'7-7'8 he's already at large risk for various medical maladies
If he has something going on with growth hormone extra than normal secretion and growth plates didn't fuse (or maybe limbs did but torso did not) he can flirt with 7'10 or so by 25 which that close to 8'0 is surely a death sentence
Just think people may think it's cool but in life there is a limit to things and being this huge has got to be detrimental.

Editor Rob
Yes, with Bradley and Olivier, they both seemed to get most of the tall combination of genes which helped them exceed well beyond what you'd expect.

Yeah you know what he did look like he wasn't standing tall in the video, and even leaning slightly to his right if anything. Standing loose would result in a large loss of height in a guy that big.
Still don't know if I'd give him the full 7ft 8 though. Hard estimate when there is no one close to his height to compare to. It would be nice to see him stand next to another giant, maybe Wemby.

Editor Rob
Think he needs a proper measurement, though you don't really get stadiometers that high. I'm sure he'll show one in the future against a wall, maybe then we will discover an exact (or near enough) figure for him.
