Sometimes, he gives me the impression of being on the short side, like sub 5ft8. I think his proportions don't help. After seeing a lot of pictures with other actors and celebrities, I can take a solid/strong 5ft8. 173 cm would be my ultimate guess. I don't agree about his colleague and close friend Vinicio Marchioni. Many of you seem quite sure he's slightly taller than Montanari, but after watching some videos of them together I actually think it's the opposite. If i had to choose, I'd say that Montanari has a better chance to be 5ft 8.5 than Marchioni.

I sincerely doubt the 180 comes from him... Never say never, but I think it's either mistake (which I'm sure has happened from looking at other listings) or maybe a generous figure from his agent?
And me too, I actually thought he could be barely 5'8, quite possibly even under at first, but overall I agree that he can look in that 5'8-5'9 range, though I really wouldn't go over 5'8.5.

Editor RobI would get a wider tape measure (construction style tape) which is firm and won't wobble about (if doing freestanding measurements).

A 174cm man claiming 180cm is a classic example of short man syndrome. Any 5’8.5” man would have to know they were nowhere near 180cm. Even with shoes on first thing in the morning, 178cm would be a stretch. Gianni even thinks that Francesco is 5’8” or shorter…Editor Rob
